Deputy Project Director

We are seeking a dynamic individual committed to the development of Tibetan communities to support the Project Director in program management and to oversee the technical components. This position offers significant opportunities for career advancement. It is open to Chinese citizens who are fluent in Tibetan, Chinese and English. Position effective ASAP, based in Kangding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

| Responsibilities: |
- Represent the program to Provincial, Prefectural and County level government, liaise and negotiate with officials as needed. Forge cooperation, synergy or complimentarity between NGOs and Government agencies to deliver better services where ever feasible.
- Oversee technical dimensions of the project components
- Assist with Monitoring and Evaluation and reporting requirements.
- Assist with management and coordination of program staff.

| Requirements: |
- Master¡¯s degree in International Development, Economics or other relevant field. PhD preferred.
- Substantial experience working in development in Tibetan regions of China.
- Understanding and experience of International NGO methodology in program planning and implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
- Demonstrated management experience.
- Experience working with government organizations, preferably in Sichuan Province.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Good command of Tibetan, Chinese and English required.
- Computer skills - MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet required.
